Macavite DDC has been lot feed tested and successfully used as a beneficial supplement for animals. The products chemical composition and nutrient table should be referred to in feeding.
It is not recommended for dogs or cats as some small animals find nuts toxic.

MACAVITE DDCtm
Our Micronised Macadamia nut in shell is mixed with starch reduced cereal, mainly sorghum and small quantities of low GI stillage grains to ensure balanced ratios of digestible protein,vitamins and minerals and essential oils that are currently lacking in competing products. Macavite DDC tm is rich in protein, energy, minerals and vitamins and is an excellent source of digestible protein and high energy for a range of livestock species. It has the fresh smell of macadamia combined with the light sweet odour of cereals and is coloured from a light to rich brown texture.
Composition of DDC
The chemical composition and nutrient values of Macavite DDC has been determined by certified analysis and many sample trials with a variety of livestock including, horses, beef and dairy cattle, pigs and poultry. The product has been trialed and proven beneficial for an excellent source of digestible protein and energy,and results of essential oil intake for over all health and wellbeing of the range of livestock tested. All the values in this document are expressed on a “dry matter” basis.
Protein
The use of micronised macadamia and different grain in our product, resulted in some variation in protein and amino acids. Protein is continuously assayed in the production, and reveals a range of 26 to 32%, particularly for the cereal component.The introduction of the micronised macadamia nut in shell enhanced the essential oil benefits and ensured a balance mix, reducing the range of protein between 18.9%to 22%.Our current product has a 20% digestible protein content.
Amino Acids
The amino acid profile of the cereal components(DDC) is based on assays conducted on samples of the commercial product by a Sydney laboratory. DDC is low in lysine but is otherwise reasonably well-balanced for amino acids. Digestibility studies of DDC with similar composition to that of the current product report digestibility coefficients in the range of 75-90%.
It is suggested that digestible amino acid values may be calculated from total amino acid values using a digestibility coefficient of 80% for all amino acids.

Use of MacaviteDDC tm in Cattle Feeding
Our dried cereal has a long history of successful use in feeds for cattle and other ruminants, particularly for dairy cattle. It is an excellent source of both energy and protein. The inclusion of micronised macadamia nut in shell trialed in cattle, pigs and poultry is proving beneficial, particularly for the balanced ratios of protein, vitamins and essential oils. Nutrient values indicated in the tables below should be used. It may be used up to 20% of the dry matter in all ruminant feeds.
Use of MacaviteDDCtm in Pig Feeding
Recent US research (University of Minnesota) suggest a high feeding value for dried cereal mix in various swine feeding applications. Suggested maximum inclusion levels are 10, 20 and 30% for young, grower/finisher, and breeding pigs respectively.
Use of MacaviteDDCtm in Poultry Feeding
Our Mix may be used in a range of poultry diets, including broilers, layers and ducks. Suggested maximum inclusion levels are 5%, 10-15%, 10% and 15% for broiler starter, broiler grower/finisher, pullet developer and layers/ breeders respectively.
